Cameron Duke

I am the head football coach at Edgewater High School and just finished my 4th season there. I live and love College Park! Coaching is a calling in my life and i feel blessed to be able to do that at the great Edgewater High School!

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I actually just got married December 27th to former Caroline Smith! We live in college park and have one dog named Penny. I am one of four boys in my family and my parents live in Clermont, Fl. My players and coaches at Edgewater are also family to me!

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I have been coaching for the last 18 years and I just finished my 7th year as a head high school football coach. I love the chance to influence the next generation of great young men through the game of football and building authentic relationships.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
4 years

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
Josh Plant-Pastor of Church on the Drive and is a great friend and a true example of a servant leader.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Well we just got back from out Honeymoon in Puerto Rico which was amazing … so now have the itch to get to the mountains to ski/snowboard so I would say Crested Butte Colorado!

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
Movies: Forest Gump, Ace Ventura, Dumb and Dumber, Remember the Titans and Rudy. TV Show: Fresh Prince of Bel Air

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Life is all about your relationships! Love God and Love People

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
Bungee Jump from a high bridge and surf really big waves (15ft plus) and survive ha

Q: What is your go to band when you cant decide what to listen to?

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
P.R.s, The Tap Room and The Local. P.R.s is special to my wife and I and The Local is where we meet as a staff after Friday Night Games!

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Nick Saban, he just won his 7th national championship and he seems like a guy that would like The Local or Tap Room.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I love how this community brings people together to celebrate that which is good and will also rally with one another to help in times of need!

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Great Question… Hopefully living out life with my wife that is about passion and purpose for others. Coaching and using the gifts God has given me to serve others.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
Lets see… I am open book to most of my family friends but I would say I come from a really musically gifted family and that trait skipped me unfortunately.

Bocas Del Toro, Panama

December, Christmas, and now December 27th!

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A packed house on a Friday Night At Frank Lowe Field (Edgewater HS home field) in the fall with another Edgewater Victory! Oh and my wife’s smile too ha!

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
The players I have a chance to coach and influence each year. This community as well and what all Edgewater HS represents.

Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
Orange Blossoms-I grew up in Clermont, Fl and they were everywhere growing up.

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
